There's another resort on Hwy 21 and the WI River that rents tubs also. River's Edge took our money and left us stranded.
We flagged down the wave runner and the man running it-from Bloomington, IL-agreed to push us in. We found that they had been pushed by a private waverer. Eventually we saw another group of tubers moving much faster than we were. We flagged down another pontoon, but he wouldn't bring us in. Even when we went through a narrows-where the current should have been good-we were moving at a snail's pace. We thought we'd been dragged to a better position in the river. We flagged one pontoon and he pulled us part way. We were also told that if we had any problems and wanted to be picked up early to just let them know-when we saw a pontoon transporting other tubers, There was almost no current. We were told to get to the middle of the river and that it would take us 2 hours to get back to the resort unless we wanted to stop along the way. We were given 4 paddles, which seemed odd the current should have taken us. We were transported by pontoon boat up the river and were let off on a beach where our tubes were connected to a tube specifically designed for our cooler. Our group of 6 went tubbing at River's Edge Resort.
